This was a great read aloud to begin our lesson on compound words. It really gets the kids thinking! I teamed up with one of my favorite first grade teachers for this activity @famousinfirst. The kids just loved listening to him read the story and then, there's me...disregard the strange look on my face.    Next up we played the compound words match up game to find our partners. Click on the picture to get this freebie from my TpT store! Students then worked with their partner to complete the compound words foldable (also in my freebie packet above). Overall, I'd say it was a very successful lesson! |
